WayPoint LSA Foundation is a developing concept built around one central mission: helping veterans regain stability, purpose, and a path forward.
Tank’s mission and dream is to create a structured transitional environment for veterans who have fallen into homelessness, housing instability, or difficult periods of reintegration. The concept is not simply about providing a temporary place to sleep. It is about creating a location where veterans can stabilize, reconnect with available resources, rebuild momentum, and begin moving toward long-term independence.
The “LSA” concept draws from the military idea of a Life Support Area: a place designed to provide the essential support personnel need in order to operate, recover, and prepare for what comes next. Each WayPoint LSA adapts that principle to veteran transition and reintegration.
The vision is to eventually provide veterans with access to safe temporary housing, transportation, meals, communications, employment assistance, benefits navigation, and connections to organizations capable of helping with additional needs. Rather than forcing veterans to navigate multiple disconnected systems on their own, WayPoint LSA is intended to become a central point from which those resources can be coordinated.
At its core, the concept is based on dignity, accountability, structure, and opportunity.
Tank believes that many veterans do not need to be treated as though they are incapable of rebuilding their lives. They may simply need a stable base of operations, access to the right resources, clear expectations, and someone willing to help them identify their next waypoint.
That philosophy is reflected in the name.
A waypoint is not necessarily the final destination. It is a known point along the route that helps determine where you are, where you are going, and what direction you need to travel next.
Each WayPoint LSA is envisioned in much the same way.
It would not be intended to become a permanent destination for the veterans it serves. The objective would be to provide a structured transitional environment that helps each individual identify and reach the next stage of his or her life—whether that means permanent housing, employment, education, treatment, reconnection with family, access to earned veteran benefits, or another path toward independence.
The concept also recognizes that successful veteran support cannot rely on one organization attempting to solve every problem internally. The WayPoint LSA Foundation would ultimately depend on partnerships with veteran organizations, government agencies, employers, community groups, healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and other individuals willing to contribute resources and expertise.
The long-term goal is simple to describe, even if accomplishing it will require significant work:
Create a place where veterans can stop surviving from one day to the next and begin planning what comes next.
WayPoint LSA remains a developing concept. The framework, operational model, partnerships, infrastructure, and organizational structure will continue to evolve as the idea is refined and evaluated.
This page serves as a public introduction to that vision and a central location where the core principles and future development of WayPoint LSA can be shared.
Tank is not doing this for applause. Tank is doing it because it’s the right thing to do—and because no one who has ever worn the uniform should be left behind.
