I’ve often described my Ripple Stack thesis as an evolving framework with numerous interconnected components. One way I visualize it is through a massive oak tree, with deep roots, a strong trunk, expanding branches, and countless leaves.
This article you’re reading now is a follow-on to my previous article that can be found here
Each part represents something different, but they’re all connected to the same underlying structure.
The Roots — Ripple’s Origins and Foundational Mission
The roots represent Ripple’s original focus on improving cross-border payments, the development of the XRP Ledger (XRPL), XRP’s utility, early institutional relationships, and the regulatory challenges associated with the SEC litigation.
These foundational elements help explain where Ripple began and provide the historical context necessary to understand how its mission and strategy have evolved.
The Trunk — Ripple’s Evolving Corporate Strategy
This is where I see the heart of my Ripple Stack thesis.
Ripple’s transition from a company primarily associated with blockchain payments into a broader institutional financial infrastructure provider represents the trunk connecting its original mission with its expanding capabilities.
The SEC litigation and its aftermath form part of that historical evolution, but the extent to which the lawsuit itself influenced individual strategic decisions must be examined rather than assumed.
The Major Branches — Different Dimensions of the Ripple Stack
Each major branch represents another area of Ripple’s growing financial infrastructure ecosystem.
These branches include:
- Institutional payments and settlement infrastructure.
- RLUSD and regulated stablecoin adoption.
- Custody, liquidity, treasury management, and prime brokerage.
- Tokenization and real-world assets.
- Banking licenses, regulatory infrastructure, and institutional integration.
- XRPL development and XRP’s potential financial utility.
- Macroeconomics, changing financial markets, and competitive positioning.
- XRP price implications and valuation scenarios.
XRP price predictions represent just one branch of my thesis, and frankly, it’s not the branch I’ve focused much attention on lately.
There will likely be additional branches as the underlying technology and financial markets continue to develop.
The Leaves and Smaller Branches — Individual Developments
Each partnership, acquisition, regulatory approval, technical implementation, or institutional deployment becomes another piece of evidence to examine.
Some developments reinforce my interpretation of Ripple’s strategy. Others may challenge it or reveal new directions.
That’s how an evolving thesis should work.
One Distinction I Attempt to Preserve
There is a difference between saying Ripple’s strategy has evolved and saying every business decision was part of one predetermined master plan.
I believe my Ripple Stack thesis is strongest when it considers both possibilities: that Ripple has been pursuing a broader vision for years, and that its strategy has adapted as regulatory conditions, institutional demand, technology, and commercial opportunities have changed.
A coherent strategy doesn’t require every element to have been envisioned from the beginning. In fact, strategic adaptation can be evidence of capable leadership.
I’m not trying to predict every branch this tree will grow. I’m studying its roots, understanding its trunk, following its branches, and sharing what I learn as the larger picture takes shape.
Sometimes the most valuable contribution to a community is simply connecting developments that other people are evaluating in isolation—and explaining what those connections might mean.

For a more detailed examination of how these different branches are developing through real-world institutional relationships, acquisitions, regulatory milestones, and financial infrastructure integration(s), I encourage you to read my companion article, The Ripple Stack Is Coming Together: How Institutional Adoption Is Positioning Ripple to Reshape Global Finance. That article examines the individual developments and explains how they contribute to the larger Ripple Stack thesis.
The long-form piece does the heavy lifting with evidence and careful distinctions, while the tree-metaphor within this article follow-on cleanly articulates the organizing framework and the stance of ongoing, provisional analysis. That pairing is deliberate and effective: one supplies the substance, the other supplies the map and the intellectual posture.
This article represents my evolving analysis of the Ripple Stack thesis and the connections I’ve identified within Ripple’s institutional infrastructure strategy as of November 2, 2026. Statements concerning future adoption, institutional integration, and XRP demand are forward-looking interpretations, not guaranteed outcomes or financial advice.
