Core Values
The Core Values of the WayPoint LSA Foundation define the principles that guide how we serve veterans, make decisions, operate our Life Support Areas, steward our resources, and protect the mission entrusted to us.
These values are drawn from the Founder’s Pledge, Mission, Vision, Ethics Statement, and the principles and convictions that led to the creation of the WayPoint LSA Foundation.
1. Veterans First
Homeless veterans are the reason the WayPoint LSA Foundation exists.
Our decisions will be measured first by their effect on the Homeless U.S. Military Veterans we serve. Organizational convenience, public recognition, donor interests, politics, and outside pressure will never take priority over the mission or the welfare of the veteran.
2. Dignity and Respect
Every veteran who comes to a WayPoint LSA will be treated with dignity, respect, and humanity.
Homelessness does not erase a veteran’s service, worth, personal agency, or right to be treated with respect. WayPoint LSAs are intended to be dignified waypoints—not institutions where veterans are shamed, controlled unnecessarily, or treated as problems to be managed.
3. Integrity and Accountability
We will operate with honesty, discipline, accountability, and integrity.
Leadership, staff, volunteers, contractors, and others entrusted with the WayPoint LSA Foundation mission are accountable for their decisions, conduct, stewardship of resources, and treatment of veterans we serve.
The mission must always come before politics, pressure, convenience, or personal gain.
4. Responsibility, Not Charity
The WayPoint LSA Foundation is founded on the belief that assisting Homeless U.S. Military Veterans is not something we do for applause, recognition, or appearances.
It is a responsibility.
These veterans once stood ready to serve this country. When one of them reaches a point where they need help regrouping, recovering, and moving forward, the WayPoint LSA Foundation exists to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them and provide that opportunity.
5. Independence and Mission Integrity
The WayPoint LSA Foundation will protect its independence and the integrity of its mission.
Donations may be accepted, but control is not for sale. Outside organizations, corporations, individuals, donors, political interests, or other entities will not be permitted to own, redirect, dilute, or compromise the mission.
Support for the WayPoint LSA Foundation must come without strings attached.
6. Transparency and Responsible Stewardship
The WayPoint LSA Foundation will responsibly steward the resources, trust, and authority placed in the Foundation.
Resources intended to serve veterans must be used responsibly and decisions must be made with transparency, accountability, and mission effectiveness in mind.
Public trust is earned through actions, not claims.
7. A Waypoint Forward
The WayPoint LSA Foundation exists to provide homeless veterans with an opportunity to move forward.
We will provide a safe, structured, supportive environment where a willing homeless veteran can regroup, stabilize, address the circumstances contributing to homelessness, reconnect with purpose, and work toward their next waypoint in life.
Support will be compassionate without abandoning standards, structured without unnecessary control, and focused on helping veterans regain stability and independence rather than creating permanent dependency.
We don’t do this for applause. We do it because it’s the right thing to do—and because no one who has ever worn the uniform should be left behind.
WayPoint LSA is currently a developing concept and does not represent an operational program or incorporated nonprofit organization at this time.
